Tytus Aureliusz Chałubiński (born December 29, 1820 in Radom, died November 4, 1889 in Zakopane) - Polish doctor, professor of pathology, botanist (bryologist), social and political activist, philanthropist, academic lecturer, philosopher of medicine, mountaineer and nature lover, Hungarian insurgent, writer. As the first doctor of Polish origin, he gained international fame and respect, and is sometimes considered the greatest Pole of the second half of the 19th century.
